Summary


At zooplus every software development team has full ownership of their stack, this means also deploying, monitoring and maintaining their products on the cloud. They’re also responsible of design, optimize and maintain their databases. This freedom it’s great for our software development strategy, but it’s a challenge for database administration inside the company.  


In this role you will have the opportunity to be working as a technical expert in PostgreSQL acting as Database Administrator for PostgreSQL. You’ll join an international team with expertise in data and will work helping other developers across the company. The tech stack you’ll work with includes (but is far from limited to):  

  • PostgreSQL
  • AWS Aurora Postgres
  • AWS RDS


What you will be responsible for 

  • Act as a reference in the Postgres, Aurora and RDS services for the software development teams using these services. 
  • Help development teams on taking the ownership of the architecture, scaling, security, availability, performance tuning, and data availability. As well as performance analysis to find scalability bottlenecks and solutions before and after an outage. 
  • Work closely together with the Data & Analytics team in Madrid and Munich. 
  • Create documentation for developers to easily onboard, develop and operate deployments of PostgreSQL 


Requirements

What we are looking for 

To work together in an optimal way in this position, we wish your qualifications to include 

  • Wide experience and deep knowledge of PostgreSQL 
  • In-depth knowledge of AWS RDS and PostgreSQL/Aurora 
  • AWS cloud-based database administration experience 
  • Ability to build relationships with the different development teams that will need your help 
  • Data admin background 
  • Fluent English
