In this position, you will be responsible for Product Management of Accessories for our Own Brands within the non-food product portfolio. You develop and manage new and existing product ranges, have full responsibility of the product lifecycle, keep an eye on the entire product value chain, and push it to the next level. At the same time, you are building and leading a team of product managers for future growth. You own the products within a defined category


Your responsibilities will be:

  • Strategic and operational management of product groups and portfolio categories.
  • Conceptual support and systematic development of new or existing Own Brands through new products and line extensions.
  • Holistic approach to product management within an efficient and international e-commerce environment.
  • Definition of assortment strategies together with strategic category management and brand management.
  • Development of coherent product management processes and control of commercial KPIs.
  • Steer product development and portfolio in accordance with zooplus’ strategy – particularly customer loyalty and retention.
  • Display of proactive root-cause analyses for portfolio performance and proactive recommendation for sustainable solutions.
  • Responsibility for the sourcing, development and introduction of global new products from the existing supplier network as well as scouting new potential suppliers.
  • Analysis of existing reports and key figures in an effort to optimize the cost situation, product availability, margin situation, sales development and category review.
  • Continuous shelf maintenance and optimization in the sense of increasing customer satisfaction and quality assurance.
  • Operational execution of quality assurance aspects with regards to product safety, marketability, labeling and language information along with Quality Management team.
  • Disciplinary and professional management of a small team.

Requirements

  • Successful university degree in business-related fields preferably with a focus on economics / business administration / marketing / product management.  Master degree is a strong plus.
  • Fundamental professional experience in product management in FMCG, retail and/or pet supplies.
  • Enthusiasm for e-commerce and a very good understanding of commercial KPIs.
  • Several years of experience in controlling a broad product range.
  • Experience with the development of product portfolios and assortment strategies.
  • Experience in cooperating with international interfaces (internal and external) – particularly from Asia and Europe.
  • Knowledge of relevant marketing processes, product launch plans, and customer communication in a pure e-commerce environment.
  • Experience in driving and implementing business projects.
  • Profound analytical skills combined with a passion for numbers and large data volumes.
  • Full professional fluency in written and spoken English, further languages are a plus.
  • Disciplinary and functional team management experience.
